I really like this sketch book. I haven't done any sketches yet, but I am using it to plan out an art project to use with my hexagon canvases. I made some templates of hexagons and cut them out so that I could play with them and move them around to decide the coloration that I want to do. I realize that this sounds stupid, but as I had never taken an art class, I thought all artists just jumped right in coloring or painting their designs without a preliminary sketch. Now I know better! So this sketch book is helping me to plan for my first major painting project.
One of the things that used to discourage me from doing anything artsy, was a total lack of materials. It is so great to have what I need so that I can do the best possible job of making a piece of beauty. Having a sketch book for planning and preliminary work is so nice. Just in case your paint or markers might bleed through, the makers have included a plastic sheet the same size as the pages so you don't risk ruining your pages. I like those little touches that companies add in to their product. This is a nice fat sketch book. The pages tear out neatly on the perforated line. It is spiral bound so it lays flat when you need it to be flat. You can use it for acrylics, watercolors, pencils and pens. It is acid free and is 120# paper. Heavy enough that if a preliminary piece of artwork turns out great, it can be framed.
I appreciate the opportunity to try out this sketchbook as well as some of the other great Ohuhu art products. Thank you. I hope to have this whole book filled up eventually with the work at the end of the book being much better than the early work.
