Very sturdy, heavy paper with no white core
I love that this paper has a black core, meaning when you cut it or sand it, it doesn't have white inside. I started using it for other projects because I love it so much. It's sturdy and heavy duty, even sturdy enough for light painting. (It will curl if you saturate it). Excellent quality. I appreciate the two pack to be able to use one as a "journal" & keep intact.

Beautiful thick quality pages
Love love love. Bought two, one for my daughter & one for myself. My daughter is an amazing artist & I can't wait to see what she'll create. I enjoy metallic writing against the black pages. Will definitely be purchasing more.

I’m a fine art major
I saw many reviews saying issues with colored pencils.
I did a drawing with General’s Charcoal White 558 and Prismacolor White PC938 and Prismacolor 90% Warm Grey PC1058. I have had no issues with getting the paper to take color.
I also ordered the Canson XL Black Sketchbook as well. The Canson sketchbook has a rougher texture than this book. I haven’t drawn in it yet but it’s not as smooth as the mixed media sketchbook. Just for reference. :)
Regardless. Would buy again!
