Verified BuyerNumber of colors : Brush & Chisel Tips (24 skin tone colors) 21/05/2020I made swatches to look at.I was excited to get these new Ohuhu skin tone markers. They have a brush and chisel tip which is an improvement to their old types. These perform like other Ohuhu markers which I love for the price. I could not really evaluate online what the actual colors would look like and so I created swatches of all the colors. Obviously some are not meant to be the actual overall skin tone, but to add to others. The names are sometimes not represented well (like black brown). I used the same eye color, hair color and lip color on all the swatches for comparison. I decided to add another page where I put what I considered were more undertones and used the same color on top. You will notice that layering these help to hide the brush strokes and definitely change the color of each. Hope this helps anyone looking at these.Helpful? (8) -

Verified BuyerNumber of colors : Brush & Chisel Tips (24 skin tone colors) 31/05/2020Maybe I should be edgier than some of these reviews and dare say they need more DARK skin tonesI'm actually appalled at the number of reviews requesting for pale skin tones and actually downgrading the product saying it's more for DARK skin tones.
This set seems to be in the middle ranges for skin tones and there were more PALER workable tones than DARK ones.
This company even released pale skin tones due to the negative reviews, which is actually rather sad compared to how quickly they reacted than say Crayola who has been doing this longer. Anyone who actually understands color would be able to work pretty well with many ranges of skin tones with the ones provided, though like I said a few darker colors wouldn't hurt. It's completely workable for all ranges. I find a majority of these complaints silly, not that it isn't bad to release more colors to work with but actually downgrading the product when they even display their range - so you know what you're in for.
Let's get to the actual markers themselves. This was the first set I purchased and they're beautiful. While many have covered the fact they work as well as Copics (which they do) and the cons of no refills and having to buy them as a set these are minor in terms of customer relation and the bang for the buck.
This set also comes in a case like the other sets they sell and includes a colorless blender.
I'm going through each marker to make sure they all work but overall I'm satisfied. As a long time Tria (anyone remembers those) and Copic user (which I have an even harder time looking for skin tone colors to work with and often have to mix media to get the look I want). While everyone does have a right to rate a product how they want as a customer, it is strange that this gets lower ratings compared to Copic's skin tone pack of 6...SIX Markers at a much higher price per marker.
So that being said, if anything, a more muted palette would be great from this company as a lot of the colors have a high saturation or lean towards more reddish hues. I did a rough color sketch to show, and found the colors on the warm side.
These are probably your best bang for your buck in terms of skin tone sets, and just keep some colored pencils around for light layering to get more of the look you want.
I'll definitely be looking for more sets from this company, as I'm happy with the product so far.Helpful? (3) -

Verified BuyerNumber of colors : Brush & Chisel Tips (24 skin tone colors) 26/09/2021Great variety of skin tones!!!I had already purchased Ohuhu markers before, so I already knew I liked the quality, so I decided to buy this skintone set, so I had more browns to work with. They are great!!! Personally, I usually use copics but t set of skin tones just does not come in a wide enough variety for me… this does the job perfectly and I recommend them to anyone who likes or just wants to try out alcohol-based markers.Helpful? Verified BuyerNumber of colors : Brush & Chisel Tips (24 skin tone colors) 27/01/2020Awesome!I love the variety, and they're just a whole lot better than the Tombows. I have the Tombow skintone markers and they were really bad. I didn't quite like them. These, however, are awesome!Helpful? (1) -

Verified BuyerNumber of colors : Brush & Chisel Tips (24 skin tone colors) 09/04/2021Super Nice QualityI initially bought the 48 ohuhu brush marker set but as someone who draws mainly people I noticed the lack of skin colors however the set is good for like everything else. I ended up buying this set as it was cheap and it looked nice. I love the quality of the markers and it’s really easy to get diverse skin tones. The picture is some art I did as soon as I received the markers so you can judge for yourself weather or not they’re good but in my eyes I think they’re very niceHelpful? (0) -

Verified BuyerNumber of colors : Brush & Chisel Tips (24 skin tone colors) 08/04/2021Beautiful colors, great value! If I could put six stars for "Value for your money", I'd put seven stars. These are fantastic. The colors are vibrant and saturated, so lighter shades may be more difficult to achieve. They blend great with Copic markers. The package contains a color chart which you can fill in (and this is much better than preprinted color charts since you are seeing the actual colors your markers make). Has a nice plastic pad to place under your paper to deter bleeding through to the page underneath, and the pouch is great too. Want to find more of these in different colors.Helpful? (0)
